This beautifully intricate textile was handmade in Bhutan on a traditional backstrap loom, and will add a gorgeous centerpiece to your table. Its motifs are quintessentially Bhutanese, from its vibrant colors to the geometric patterns and shapes.

About the Artisan

Karma Choden previously worked for the UN, NGOs, and government agencies before dedicating herself to textiles. She has trained over 2,000 artisans to support generating income for women in Bhutan.

This tablecloth is woven on traditional back strap loom, the oldest loom used in Bhutan.

Care Instructions

Hand wash in mild detergent

Materials

Terry cotton with the motif made of mulberry silk. The terry cotton uses azo-free dyes and the motifs are dyed naturally with stick lac, artemisia, madder and turmeric.
