Our collection of handmade rugs are made in North Africa, where master weaver Hocine Bazine weaves in a traditional style with the handwoven methods and motifs that have been passed down for generations. Each handmade rug is one-of-a-kind made on a vertical loom in Algeria.

Handmade Berber rugs, often associated with Morocco, have a rich history in Algeria, where the Mozabite, an Ibadi sect of Berber people, settled the M'Zab valley over a thousand years ago.

Bazine creates a resilient economy at home by purchasing wool from families in the area and employing other local weavers.
